Dec 2020/ Jan 2021 Prayer Letter

Dec. & Jan. 2021

Dear Pastor and Church family,

We trust your new year has gotten off to a good start. With grateful hearts to the Lord, here is a short summary of the highlights from the months of November and December. November: Teen meeting, Ladies’ meeting and Men’s breakfast – with good attendance and in person! All our services in November were such an encouragement. After the services, people didn’t want to go home and stayed extra long to enjoy the fellowship.

December: We had a new visitor from Perú, Leyla, join us for our special ladies Christmas meeting. The teens met at church the day after Christmas and enjoyed good food and fellowship. Our Christmas program (which we prepared by faith), was amazing!! We had 4 visitors (in person) and on Zoom a sister church in a nearby city, and some 12 other people from Spain and other countries, many of whom are unsaved. Because of the limitation of number of people allowed at church, we invited only a few. The children and the adult choir did an awesome job presenting the birth of our Savior which was videotaped and then sent to unsaved family and friends.

On a personal note, I (Jack), began the year with 2 visits to the ER. The first one with a wrong diagnosis, but the 2nd one nailed it! I had 2 gall stones stuck in the biliary tract causing a rather bad infection. I was admitted to the hospital on January 7th and stayed there for 6 days, right when the 3 day snowstorm hit Madrid, paralyzing everything. Once home, I was given a strong oral antibiotic, which kept me down and very sick for 10 more days. But after last week’s visit, dr. pulled me off the antibiotic and sure enough, in about 48 hours I began to feel more normal. My strength and energy are returning slowly. Now asking the Lord for a good recovery during the next 2 months, before gall bladder removal in March.

Our church neighborhood has been confined, so people that live outside the neighborhood cannot attend. Between the confinement from the historic snowstorm, and being down myself, we had to revert to Zoom meetings in January. But praise the Lord, yesterday (Jan. 24th), we were able to be back in church and had services on Zoom as well for those who couldn’t attend. It is impossible for us to know each of your situations during these difficult days, but we pray that you will continue to lean on HIM for HE is faithful!

So many souls need to hear the good news of salvation in Christ alone. Pray for the Lord to send more laborers to Spain. Your prayers for us and for the church in Madrid are making a difference.

Thank you!
